This friendly café in St Kilda West is a little gem for families. With a sunny outdoor deck adjacent to a cute playground, this is a great space for parents to sip their coffee, hot chocolate or chai latte while watching the kids burn off excess energy. Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, part of the Dairy's menu is geared towards their youngest customers with plenty of healthy child-friendly options as well as sweet treats (little cups of jelly are a particular hit with under-fives). Kid's breakfast menu favourites include 'googie eggs' (soft boiled with toast soldiers) or a 'parfait' of yoghurt, fresh fruit and Fruit Loops.

It's not just for kids though. For the more mature crowd, the Dairy's drawcards are excellent coffee, good food and pleasant service. Highlights of the breakfast menu are organic porridge, home-made granola, and roasted field mushrooms along with more indulgent options like brioche French toast or Spanish eggs with bacon and chorizo. A variety of home-made muffins, sandwiches, pies, slices, soups and salads make up the lunch menu. It can get busy during weekend lunches, but otherwise it is a relaxing space to catch up with friends or just sit and read the newspaper.

Only two blocks from the lovely St Kilda West beach and Catani Gardens, the Dairy also makes a great pit-stop to pick up picnic supplies (and for those hot days on the sand, their ice-cream fridge has a good stock of popular commercial ice creams and icy poles).
