Another day, another cupcake quest. This time, Couture Cupcakes at Bardon.
The menu says "Bites of Heaven" and indeed they are. They all looked dreamy - raspberry, passionfruit cream cheese and red velvet. But I went for the plain vanilla. Sometimes it's just all you want.
The cupcake was moist and spongy, the icing was fresh and sweet and it was topped with a cute icing flower. My dining partner had the very gourmet choc ganache, which she said was equally delicious. It was perfectly complemented by a cup of English Breakfast tea.
They have a savoury menu as well, but who wants that if you're at a cupcake shop...right?
The cupcakes and tea are just divine, but the location on busy Macgregor Terrace can make it difficult to have a conversation. Luckily there's tables inside if it gets a bit too noisy. They also have a range of homewares and other delectable treats to tempt you...I ended up with a pair of baby's thongs. Sigh...too much temptation.
Overall, I'm loving Couture Cupcakes. There's not too many places in the inner west that specialise in cupcakes, so definitely put this on your list.
