The premier outlet in Australia for Frank Hudson furniture

If you prefer high quality, traditional hand crafted furniture, made with natural products from renewable sources over the standard mass produced utility furniture often found at the major franchise furniture chains, then you should make a beeline for The CourtYard, a beautiful new fine furniture boutique located in the scenic Dandenong Ranges.

This newly opened furniture and homewares showroom, which is housed in a beautiful meandering weatherboard 'hills' property, proudly offers Australian consumers the highest standard bedroom collections, dining furniture and occasional pieces at affordable prices. In particular, the furniture at The CourtYard is handcrafted from solid hardwood with beautiful finishes, such as Pippy Oak, and European Walnut. Plus you will find elegant detailed touches on the various furniture pieces, including solid brass handles and intricate designs.

You can be sure the furniture at The CourtYard is of an individual character and style, as the namesake of The CourtYard is its owner, Catherine Court, a family member of the celebrated Hudson family, who are behind the historic UK Frank Hudson Furniture brand. Frank Hudson Furniture is sold extensively throughout the UK, including Selfridges and John Lewis.

The Frank Hudson Furniture Company, which dates back to the 1947 and was formed by Catherine's grandfather, Frank Hudson and father, Rex Hudson. Today Catherine's three brothers, James, Tim and Thomas Hudson, now proudly preside over the company. Catherine herself is continuing her family's passion for well constructed furniture of the finest quality here in Australia, by exclusively showcasing Frank Hudson Furniture pieces in The CourtYard.

"It gives me a great deal of pleasure and pride to bring my family's craftsmanship to Australia," says Catherine. "The furniture of Frank Hudson is displayed at its finest in the beautiful and contemporary setting here in Sassafras."

"We have all grown up with our grandfather's legacy of beautiful furniture," Catherine explains. "It's in our blood and part of who we are."

In each of the six rooms of The CourtYard, Catherine has carefully showcased each Frank Hudson Furniture range, including bedroom settings, dining room and occasional pieces, coupled with an eclectic collection of homewares sourced from Australia and overseas to achieve a contemporary Australian style.

Suppliers include PonyRider, Lightly, Bonnie & Neil, Page Thirty Three and bed-linen from Her Shed of Byron Bay and lighting from Hermon and Hermon of Richmond. The wall decorations on display are sourced from Cardboard Safari of New York, cushions from UK artist Rachel Forgham and many more interesting gifts, homewares and jewellery, sourced from local artists and abroad, are available.

Hey, what a surprise to read this as I just visited this shop today. It has lot's of different rooms with lovely things to look at. I like the quirky and interesting pieces that she has. You can be sure to get something a little different here. The lady also was really friendly and helpful which made it a nice place to shop in. Bought myself a pressy. The shop is just outside the main shops of Sassafras so you may accidentley drive past. Worth a u-turn.
