Every country town has its charming shops and places to eat. One country town in New South Wales that has a very charming café is Berrima and its Courtyard Café . Located in a small courtyard off the main road, the Courtyard Café offers a range of baked goods, food and drinks for locals and people passing through or staying in the historic town. Small towns have something delightful about them, and the little shops along the main road near the Courtyard Café are lovely too.



It is a place you can come to after visiting some of the historic sites in Berrima, such as the Berrima Courthouse, where you can eat scones, a steak sandwich, pies, cakes, and a range of other food you might find at a café, as well as the staple drinks – coffee, tea, milkshakes, and cold drinks. Like any café, they will have their regulars, as well as visitors, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The day I went to the Courtyard Café was during the week, so it wasn’t very busy at the time, and the service was good. I also liked that they cater for a range of tastes and needs to ensure that as many people as possible can come and enjoy the space, which uses local produce to create its meals and food.

This is a great little place to come if you want a nice meal when you are visiting Berrima and the Southern Highlands, and worth checking it out, as it is near a lolly shop as well.
