Get away from the city and love your new country location
Are you (secretly) enjoying the isolation? Thinking seriously about finding your own country retreat? Not scared of a renovation project? Well, have I got a treat for you! Check out these South Australian rural lovelies looking for a new owner and an entirely new lease on life. You won't believe the bargain prices.
It would be hard to find a cheaper bargain in a better location than this former Uniting church at 10 Weigall St, Eudunda. Right in town and in need of total renovation, you could rescue this piece of history. Priced at $56,000 - $59,000 put your bargaining hat on and grab up a country project! This one really needs a lot of work, so look through the photos for a start. At only an hour and twenty minutes from Adelaide, you could consider making Eudunda your permanent home!
If you like old churches but that one is not your cup of tea, this gorgeous former Anglican church at 1 Main St, Point Pass might suit you better. This lovely old church has many beautiful original features. Look through the photos; this one won't scare you off! Priced at only $75,000 this could be the rural retreat you've been longing for! A very quiet location that is still not so very far from Adelaide at only one and a half hours drive from Adelaide (it's a little north of Eudunda, south of Robertstown, on World's End Highway, for those who might have a camping background).
Also about an hour and a half from Adelaide is 310 Railway Tce, Sutherlands, which is also near Eudunda, being just to the east. This former church has already been converted into a home but could do with some renovations and updating. Priced $160,000 reflects the work that has already been done. It's worth looking through the photos. This is a nice rural retreat if you want to get away from it all.
Okay, so you like the distance, about an hour and a half from the city? But you would like something in the centre of a little country town that has a popular pub (when COVID-19 is not interfering with life) and a well-stocked little supermarket? Try out the former District Council Chambers at Lot 4 Ridley Rd, Sedan! Priced at only $140,000, this is a more modern brick building, slap-bam in the centre of bustling Sedan.
I have one more for you, also around that hour and a half drive from Adelaide, a little east of Auburn, a little north of Saddleworth, 68 Weymouth St, Manoora is a lovely old hotel with lots of history just looking for some loving attention. The possibilities are endless here. Priced at $199,000. This old pub is ready to launch back into business or be converted to whatever you fancy. Follow the link and check out the details and photos for yourself. This one might be more than a weekend getaway, this might be a whole new life for you!
