I am a weekend adventurer and enjoy getting out and about with the family. I live in Brisbane and my main loves are food, sport and kid related activities

Exercise - love it or hate it most of us should be doing more of it. It can be fun if you find the right thing for you. There are so many options from joining a gym to team sports or organised classes.
After having kids I decided recently that I wanted to do something for myself and get a little fitter. I discovered group fitness classes.
The class I do is in the park on a Saturday morning and involves a group of up to 10 women. It is targeted towards Mums and the great thing is that there are people at all different fitness levels.
We do a circuit of exercises involving weights and mat activities such as crunches and leg lifts. We also do some running and finish with a couple of rounds of tricep dips and squats. You work at your own level and our trainer simply wants us to do our best. If you need to walk during the runs or modify any of the exercises that's fine.
After the first class I was sore for 3 or 4 days but by the 5th class I hardly noticed it the next day. After a couple of months of classes my cardiovascular fitness is slowly improving too.
The class goes for 45 minutes and the cost is $10 per class. You can pay for 10 lessons for $80. Find more information on this class at Ptjewells on Facebook.
So how do you find a class near you? I think the best way is by word of mouth - ask your friends, relatives, neighbours or the school mums like I did. An internet search for 'group fitness classes' yields lots of results so you may need to put in your suburb. Checking your local newspaper might also be helpful.
