Someone has put a lot of love into this delightful little café. The front of the house is surrounded by a green lawn and a beautiful picturesque garden. The outdoor area has a large white gazebo, tables and chairs and a small children's playset. Since it was raining the day we visited we decided to eat inside.
In each of the rooms I found bookcases, shelves and tables weighed down with things like tea cups, saucers, butter dishes, teddy bears, vases, china statues and more. And you can purchase them if you want. I had a lot of fun exploring each of the rooms and seeing what they had to offer. I liked the room up the back that had an entire bookcase full of teddy bears.
The Cottage Tea Room serves sandwiches, sweet scones, quiches, savoury scones, cakes, waffles and tea and coffee. They also sell handmade jams and relishes for $8 dollars and bags of tea. You can get these at the front counter.
The Cottage Tea Room is a fantastic place to go for morning or afternoon tea. They serve a huge selection of teas. If you are a fan of classic black tea they serve English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Scottish Breakfast.
When we went to the Cottage Tea Room we had a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of carrot cake and two hot chocolates. It was a perfectly pleasant afternoon tea in a charming old house filled with a lot of character. I would happily visit again.
