Cottage Point

Published October 27th 2009
Located in the waterfront bushland of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is one of Sydney's smallest suburb called Cottage Point. This small settlement overlooks the junction of Cowan Water River and Coal and Candle Creek.

This little suburb is accessible by Cottage Point Road off Liberator General San Martin Drive around 38 kms north of Sydney. If you are only going to Cottage Point you will not need to pay National park entry fee. Another way of reaching this place is by a seaplane (from Rose Bay) that lands in the Cowan water.

This quaint suburb has a Kiosk and a boat hire junction. The kiosk is a great place to sit and enjoy a light meal and savor the wonderful views of the surroundings. Cottage Point is the gateway to the magnificent fishing grounds of the Hawkesbury. A better way to explore more could be to hire a boat and explore the Hawkesbury River System.

It is hard to believe that just 40 minutes from Sydney lies this peaceful suburb that provides just the right kind of getaway from the city for some quiet time.
