Glamour in the bush
Introducing the newest getaway trend: glamping where glamour meets camping. A style of camping created for people like me. There are things in life I love doing, things I would love to do and things I think I would love but actually don't.

One of those things my adventure-seeking heart thought I'd enjoy was camping. Why did I think I'd love it? Because I love adventure, I like trying new things, I love travelling and I love spending time away with loved ones.

But I didn't love it at all.

Why? Because I'm petrified of wild animals, actually all animals and bugs, and I'm not as connected to nature as I think I am. Setting up tents is a hassle and sleeping bags are uncomfortable. I'm a city girl who likes "luxury".

But nature, glorious beautiful nature how do I connect with thee?

And just like that my prayers have been answered. Enter glamping. Perfect for a city girl like me who still wants to explore the great outdoors without getting her hands dirty.

On Friday I packed my overnight bag and headed to the absolutely beautiful and breathtaking Daylesford. A place that needs to be on your "to see" list and once is never enough.

We booked a night at Cosy Tents, a camp site like no other I've seen.

Path to glamping

Entering our tent was like entering a hotel room in the bush. Comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, table and chairs, set of towels, a charger for your phone and a light! Also extra blankets for those cold nights and a hot water bottle too. All this with Daylesford as a backdrop bliss!

Bed in a tent, yes please.

You can do the usual camp things like sit around a fire, cook a barbecue, and go for a walk.

They have all the utensils you may need, allocated to each tent, so no need to pack much more than your food.

Some items in our tent including utensils, phone charger, tissues and a torch.

There were plenty of board games, magazines, books and gadgets to keep you entertained too.

We even got to take a polaroid snap home as souvenir!

The glamping experience extends all the way to the bathroom where you don't have to wave off flies.

A fully equipped shared bathroom is available in a purpose-built cabin. Toiletries, toilet paper (the good kind), moisturiser and air-freshener because bad smells are not welcome at glamping! Ha!

The highlight was waking up to the sound of birds singing, the smell of fresh air and sight of picturesque Daylesford all while cuddled with my blanket, in bed in my very cosy tent! 
