In a busy shopping strip on New Canterbury Road, at Petersham, is a little piece of Portugal right here in Sydney.



Costa Do Sol offers big portions of traditional Portuguese foods in a simple, but welcoming, location.



The large menu features traditional offerings of various meats and seafoods, and of course the ubiquitous paella, that is a Portuguese mainstay.



The portions are huge so come hungry or be ready to share. The calamari we sampled was fresh and soft with big thick rings beautifully seasoned. Following that was a huge plate of bright yellow paella with chicken and chorizo that was flavourful, but a little salty.




The desserts we sampled were chocolate mousse and rice pudding, with the mousse declared the standout favourite. The service was efficient and professional.
