The Peel Street and Leigh Street region of the city is somewhere I could be every night. Lively small bars and restaurants fill up with relaxing street dining, wine and cocktails.
For my birthday dinner, a nice restaurant was on the cards and Cos 18 Leigh was where we decided to go.
Walking up to the door, we were asked by a staff member if we wanted to do a wine tasting that they had in the lush outside area of the restaurant showcasing some South Australian wines. The staff undergoing the wine tasting were very friendly, letting us try many different reds and whites. This was a perfect start to a great evening.
When entering the restaurant, we were taken to our table. A small table in the middle of the room set with white table clothes, cutlery, wine and water glasses. Dark wooden floors and the soft glow of the room was beautiful, giving off a relaxing presence.
My partner ordered one of the wines he tried in the wine tasting and I ordered a Moscato.
When looking where to go for my birthday dinner, their menu stood out online. Nothing too fancy, great selection of ingredients, steak dishes and an outstanding wine selection. The menu changes throughout the year, showcasing seasonal produce and giving you perfect flavours to match the weather outside.
To start, the focaccia bread with olive oil was delicious. Our mains were next, eye fillet with broccolini and red wine jus and a ribeye that came with broccolini and red wine jus, as well as a side of honey pumpkin. The food was amazing, filling, cooked perfectly with amazing flavours.
Staff were all experienced, enthusiastic and gave quality service from the start to the finish of our visit.
