Parks dedicated to sport can be a real asset to a neighbourhood, especially when they are laid out well with quality facilities. One such park is Coronation Park in Minto. The site impressed me in particular because, unlike many sports-centric parks, it was not purely made up of soccer or rugby fields but has a central focus on netball.
The park is home to sets of asphalt courts on two levels - one over-looking the other. There are over 40 netball courts. There is a large parking area as well as facilities for a canteen, change rooms, toilets and floodlighting during night games. The courts are commonly used by the Campbelltown District Netball Association, who play all their games there.
The space allocated for the Complex is generous and it is conveniently located next to the Minto railway station, a bus stop and a number of near-by shops. The site is a 5 minute walk from the Minto Mall and a number of popular drive-thrus. It is also directly next to the Minto Indoor Sports Complex - which provides facilities for volleyball, netball, basketball and futsal - making this area a real hub for sporting in Minto.
