Where you'll find the locals getting their coffee fix
Everyone loves a little bit of local knowledge when it comes to finding a great coffee right? Well, as a local I'm happy to share this little place that the 'locals' have as their 'go-to cafe'.

The Mornington Peninsula certainly has more than its fair share of cafes, so what makes this one stand out?

The simple fact is that if you want a great coffee without having to go into the bustling main street, then you'll probably prefer to join the locals and stay 'away from the crowds' at this friendly cafe. The Corner Pantry is often referred to as the "hidden gem" on the hill.

Inside the cafe, you'll find a light, bright, and airy space to relax. From what limited knowledge I have on interior design (read severely limited), I think it's pretty 'on trend'. A Kirsten Jackson artwork hangs cheerfully on the charcoal feature wall, whilst greenery adds some contrast to the pastel pink wall opposite. Pops of colour from the serving ware brings a sense of fun, and the timber tables add warmth. The floor to ceiling windows let in ample natural light and allows the outdoors in.

Staff seem to be happy working here; they're friendly, knowledgeable, and give the cafe a good vibe.

The menu (pictured below) has a variety of options to choose from (including allergy-friendly ones), along with a daily board of specials that included:
Roasted Veg Frittata $13
Bubbles Breakfast Burger (bacon, egg, avo, tomato relish,
spinach, hash brown) $14
Ceaser/Roast Pumpkin or Ham and Caramelised Onion
Focaccia $9 each
Mango smoothie $8

Locally roasted Commonfolk coffee is the bean of choice here. It's a brand that's very popular on the Peninsula. And in fact, Commonfolk also has their own tucked away 'trendy' cafe located 15 minutes away in the industrial area of Mornington that you may want to check out if you haven't already.

Just like the name suggests The Corner Pantry is located on the corner of Mountain View Rd and Quinns Parade in Mt Eliza. It's 4km outside of the main township of Mt Eliza in a quiet, leafy, suburban area not far from the Mount Eliza regional park.

Reviews of The Corner Pantry cafe are outstanding. Facebook reviewers rate them a 4.9 out of 5, Tripadvisor 4.5, and overall with Google a 4.2. Comments include:
"Without a doubt the best cafe on the Peninsula.!"- Jonno
"Wonderful food and really lovely people." - Ash
"This cafe offers the best of coffee culture in Mt Eliza." - Niransha
"Lovely little cafe in a tranquil spot close to parkland." - Rebecca
