I recently visited Cork & Chroma , a paint and sip studio, where I had a truly spectacular time with my girlfriends , drinking our favorite wines and creating modern masterpieces that now sits on the walls of our respective homes. This gorgeous little studio can be found in South Brisbane where the talented in-house artists will teach you the basic skills required to create a stunning artwork step-by-step. BUT they won't start until you've donned your apron, ordered some nibbles and cracked open your preferred beverage.



This great night out is made even more special this coming Valentines Day weekend, when the lovely people at Cork & Chroma are running workshops for both couples, and the lovely single ladies of Brisbane.

13th of Feb – Girls' Night Out
For all those exquisite single ladies out there who Valentine's Day often forgets, Cork & Chroma has planned the perfect night out for you. Not only do you get to hang out with your girls but you also drink wine and paint a hunky looking portrait. The artwork being painted during this session is called "Go Bananas" and is, as you can see in the image below, a male figure with an appropriately placed piece of fruit.



Disclaimer: The venue has floor to ceiling windows, so attendees will not be painting a live model. However with a little bit of imagination, and guidance from the wonderful in-house artist, I'm sure you will create a masculine masterpiece.



14th of Feb - Paint Your Date
The Paint Your Mate session for couples occurs twice on Valentines Day, at 2pm and again at 7pm, so you can fit in a dinner at one of the gorgeous Southbank restaurants nearby, and truly make a date of it.

The night is set up slightly differently from a normal session at Cork & Chroma. Usually you sit next to your mates, but with the special couple's night you sit opposite your date, and for the full three hours you aren't allowed to sneak a peak at your partner's picture. Save the surprise until the end! To make it a little more interesting, and to take away the pressure of having to perfectly recreate your date on canvas, the artwork being created during these sessions is done in the wonky style of Pablo Picasso.



If you are interested in enjoying this wonderful night out with your partner, you need to book in soon, because there are only 32 seats available for each session – that is only 16 pairs of partners!
