The 'high tea' antipasto dish ordered

A magical and somewhat spiritual oasis in Lygon Street. A perfect establishment for catching up with a close likeminded friend before Christmas, and on a Sunday night too. Copperwood Bar & Restaurant is a truly awesome dining experience.

My friend Kim and I just had the perfect seat. Loved the tree having above us. Lost count as to how many times a waiter came wanting to take our order, despite that we were still not ready to decide. For a quality restaurant, the prices of the mains were quite reasonable.

The rest of the dishes ordered

Some tapas to share was the order of the day. We went for some salad dish, the Italian meatballs and an antipasto plate which was so bliss. It arrived looking like high tea. Fresh meats and beautiful haloumi cheese. The chicken pieces were filling yet a little dry. We arrived at around 8pm, and ended up leaving close to 11pm. The staff were completely understanding.

The tree above us

The house red wine was quite rich, yet it blended in nicely with the dishes that we both shared. Kim's coffee was waiting a little bit too long at the counter, to the point where Kim had to politely ask for our drinks before her coffee gets too cold. The coffee was a little rich, yet with a couple of spoons of sugar, it made way for a satisfying coffee delight. The water jug was quite cute with refreshing water to also share with just the right amount of ice.

Great service with polite wait staff. They asked me if I was a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, and I handed my Frequent Flyer Card over after my Amex, as soon as they worked it out. Would I return to this establishment? Absolutely. And so would Kim. After all she chose the place for us. Bliss.
