This May 2022, a new three-day festival is coming to the Copper Coast. FLAME Festival will showcase local talents in Food, Light, Art, Music and Entertainment across the townships of Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo from Friday the 27th to Sunday the 29th. There will be a range of performances, cultural displays, workshops and creative events to cater for the whole family.
Yorkes Emporium Night Market will kick off the jam-packed weekend with stalls, food and live music all in one location at Moonta's Queen Square. The Moonta Mines Museum on Verran Terrace will also be lit up and bathed in night lights, so do drive by and experience this historic site in a way that has not been seen before. In Wallaroo, the boats of the Radio
Controlled Boaters will be lit up on the water at the boat ramp.
Then, on Saturday morning, Kadina Hub will come alive as face painting, balloons, magic tricks and entertainment take over Graves Street. While you're there, be sure to visit Ascot Gallery for an exhibition of Janette Ireland's work and Alison's Shoe Store for a demonstration of shoe cleaning the old-fashioned way. And, in nearby Victoria Square, the Rotary Club Markets will feature arts, crafts, plants, cakes, biscuits, oils, jams, pickles and more. The Country Women's Association will also be demonstrating their skills in spinning, knitting, embroidery and baking at the Moonta Town Hall.
Over the three nights, Wallaroo Silos will light up in celebration of everything the region has to offer. Sunday morning will see the Wallaroo Lions Club Markets deck out the town hall on Irwine Street. This is your last chance to grab a bargain.
