If you can't go to Coonawarra, then Coonawarra will come to you. That's right, some of Coonawarra's finest wineries are packing their bags (and wine boxes) and going on a road trip right around Australia for your wine drinking pleasure.
The word Coonawarra is an Aboriginal word meaning Honeysuckle. However, the region is more famous for its 'terra rossa' (red) soil and full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. Located just across the Victorian South Australian border, Coonawarra is a choice destination for wine connoisseurs, as well as playing host to lots of great wine related festivals.
But it's not always possible to just pop in to Coonawarra for a bit of a tipple. So following the success of last year's Roadshow event, this merry band of winemakers are preparing to do it all again, meeting with wine lovers from Hobart to Brisbane and everywhere in between. Landing in each major city through August, the winemakers will be sharing their wares while discussing the grape growing and wine making process with those who are interested most.
This very special, wine oriented Roadshow will be pouring out samples of over 100 wines for your tasting pleasure. Share you love of wine with your friends and some of the best in the business.
Featured wineries will include Balnaves of Coonawarra, Banks Thargo Wines, The Blok Estate Coonawarra, Bowen Estate, Brand's Laira Coonawarra, Jack Estate, DiGiorgio Family Wines, Highbank Wines, Hollick Estates, Katnook Coonawarra, Kidman Wines Coonawarra, Koonara Wines, Leconfield Wines, Lindeman's Wines, Majella Wines, Parker Coonawarra Estate, Patrick of Coonawarra, Penley Estate, Petaluma, Raidis Estate, Redman Wines, Rymill Coonawarra, Wynns Coonawarra, Yalumba, Zema Estate Wines, and Whistle Post.
The Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow will be travelling right around Australia in August, with the Melbourne show featuring on Thursday 11th August 2016 between 5pm to 8pm at the Melbourne Town Hall, located on the corner of Swanston and Collins Streets, Melbourne.
General admission is $45, with tickets available online or at the door. For pre-purchase either visit the website, call 8737 2392 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Guests must be aged 18 years and over to attend.
