18 kilometre rainforest hike without too many hills passes by 4 waterfalls and provides spectacular views. A great day out.
Starting at the upper car park in Binna Burra near the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge Cafe and Restaurant, you head off into the rainforest down the Border Track. You can continue down the Border Track and return via the Coomera Falls Track, however I would recommend doing the more interesting Coomera Falls Track first and returning via the border track. This also means that you won't miss the turnoff from the Border Track onto the Coomera Falls section and end up walking off to New South Wales.
There is a lot to see on this track which goes past four waterfalls including a lookout above Coomera Falls. We were lucky because we went soon after a week of rain so all the falls were flowing. Some people who joined us on the hike had gone a week earlier when there had been no rain and reported that everything was dry.
**Dangers, Hassles and Annoyances

There hike is not particularly hard, though it is fairly long. Both on the Coomera Falls part of the track and the border track there are plenty of sheer drops off the track so care should be exercised.
After the rain you do have a few creek crossings so it is always useful to carry a spare pair of socks in case your feet get wet.
When I went on this hike it was recently after rains so there were many small hungry leeches on the path. I always recommend taking some Bushman or other insect repellent with you.
When hiking in winter take a warm jacket with you. Even if the day is hot it can start to get cold from about 4 pm. If you are delayed or lost you will appreciate having taken the warmer clothes with you.
