Coolum Beach on the beautiful Sunshine Coast is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. A little over an hour's drive north of Brisbane it offers loads of different accommodation options, plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars and best of all Coolum Beach itself.
There is no denying that Coolum Beach is absolutely stunning.
Coolum Beach is about 2 kms long and runs from Point Perry in the south to Stumer Creek on its northern end. Coolum Beach is fully patrolled by lifeguards from the nearby surf club and is very popular with swimmers, surfers and paddle boarders.
As it is a dog-friendly beach (provided they are on a leash) this beach is very busy of a morning and evening with people walking their dogs.
I stayed at the Coolum Beach Holiday Park which is literally right on the beach. It is a big park with plenty of caravan and camping sites as well as 6 well appointed cabins.
The cabins at Coolum Beach Holiday Park are lovely and well appointed.
Small dogs are allowed on application to management so if you are travelling with your fur family this might be the perfect spot to stay.
