Easter Art A Real Treat
Easter is a particularly crafty time of year. There are Easter hats to make, Easter treats to cook, and Easter eggs to paint. So if you like mixing colours, why not mix with like-minded arty folk and visit The Coolum Art Group's Easter Art Exhibition at the Coolum Civic Centre. The exhibition will be held from Friday 14th April to Sunday 16th April 2017 and will include a wide range of colourful, exquisite paintings for viewing and purchase.
The exhibition will showcase more than 150 art works from the 21 members of the Coolum Art Group, including my favourite, Lynn Shaw. The artists themselves are diverse in their choice of medium and include pastels, watercolours, acrylics, and oils. Walking and browsing the many different artworks is a wonderful way to experience life and art through the eyes of artists. It also provides ample opportunity for children and budding artists to join in the fun and learn a little bit more about different mediums and techniques.

Apart from the general Easter exhibition, the artists each supply an art work for a separate competition and this year's theme is "Bush Fires." This theme is especially apt after the bushfires experienced in our Coolum and Peregian communities. The other competition is the People's Choice award where viewers are asked to vote for their favourites. The Coolum Art Group's Annual Easter Exhibition will be open 9am to 5pm daily, 14th - 16th April. Entry is free.
