Where are the Coolest Bars in Melbourne?
**Melbourne is full of secret laneway venues, rooftop bars, and cocktail lounges, but there are a few that set themselves apart, due to their location and crowd.
**
Harley House is an industrial-chic style bar and bistro off Strachan Lane (enter from Exhibition Street) at 71 Collins Street. It's not easy to find. They are open all days (except Monday) from 4.30pm (to midnight most nights, and 3am on Saturdays). Along with their impressive drinks and cocktail menu, eclectic beers, and extensive wine list, they offer contemporary Latin American Food with a Peruvian influence. The crowd is laid-back, friendly and loyal.
Magic Mountain Saloon is a boutique bar and eatery offering Modern Australian and Thai food in a contemporary setting. They are at 62 Little Collins St in the city and open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays (and 1am on other days). They have a large selection of beers, mixed drinks, and wines. Wear a nice shirt, but don't go too formal, this venue goes for a casually cool approach and most of the patrons use this bar as a starting point for some very late evenings.
Red Hummingbird is likely one of those bars you've walked past many times and haven't seen, or you've looked up, and wondered how to get up to the rooftop. You can enter at 246 Russell Street, and keep heading up till you find the stylish cocktail bar, a cool beer garden and a small area for casual dining. It feels quite exclusive to be out of sight in this cool location, way above the crowds. They are open to midnight (and 1am on weekends).
