Walking the Woodlands Walk at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead in Somers in the sunshine, under blue skies. We timed it perfectly too, in between downpours of rain.

The homestead and parkland are closed at the moment but the walks are open for anyone and it's completely free. There are 4 options you can take on the Woodlands Walk, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

We took Route 2 which is an hour. It's got lots of tunnels and pathways that twist and curve. Keeps you on your toes but not difficult. A nice, easy walk in fresh country air with plenty of birdlife and Australian bush.

Once it all opens, the picnic area is a lovely shaded place under huge trees with lots of open green lawns and right near the homestead which you can tour. The picnic area is a really quiet place to get together outside with a group.

Coolart Wetlands offers up plenty!
