The are a member of the Art and Craft on the Coast markets chain, the other two markets being the Broadbeach and Burleigh markets.
Set by the beach in Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta, they're a lovely morning drive from the Gold Coast or Brisbane if you want to travel a little further afar.
The markets have over 150 stalls of good quality locally made and sourced items. It's easy to spend a couple of hours wandering around enjoying the sea breeze and the idyllic location while you browse the market stands.
This is the longest running market chain on the Gold Coast, having run for over 20 years.
They are bright and colourful, and full of the weird, wonderful, holistic and handmade. Plenty of tasty foods, including delicious real fruit iceblocks, just what you need for a morning by the beach.
There are clothes, soy candles, soaps, dreamcatchers, quality pet care supplies, homewares, locally made crockery, and hundreds of other quality items.
One thing I love about these markets is the live music. There's nothing better than relaxing by the sea listening to casual tunes. The market organisers lay out ground rugs for use while the market goers enjoy the great music. There's a nice kids area too.
The next door Coolangatta Surf Club does a sausage sizzle on market days and is a wonderful place to enjoy lunch after your market wander.
These markets are at Queen Elizabeth Park, Marine Parade, Coolangatta, on the second Sunday of the month, check out their
Facebook page for regular updates and verification of market dates in case of rain or public holiday weekends. Parking can be a little difficult in the streets around the area, but the shopping centre across the road has plenty of effortless parking.
