Bored of going to the same pub or the same beach over and over again? Tired of chilling at a mates house or going to the weekly football match?

Here are a few different ideas to spice up your quality friend time!

Do the Harlem Shake
Those who are YouTube savvy will undoubtedly have heard of the first viral phenomenon of 2013 known as the 'Harlem Shake' . If you haven't do yourself a favour and type it into YouTube.

Basically, get a heap of your mates together and dance around like idiots. Add the song 'Harlem Shake' by Bauuer into the background and upload for the world to enjoy. It is a lot of fun and a great way to make a fool of yourself. Make sure to watch the videos to get the formula correct.

Here is a shameless plug of our own Harlem Shake we did after a night out... enjoy!

Scavenger Hunt
Every group of friends has wanted to organise a scavenger hunt at some point in time, but they rarely seem to materialise.

For this you need at least two teams and a list of weird things to take photos of, buy, take, do etc. etc. The list can range from simple things like 'buy one grape at a supermarket' do downright stupid acts like attempting to run into the back of a fast food store.

The first team to complete their list (with proof of course) is the winner, and gets bragging rights for life - the ultimate prize.

Build a raft
You might think this is tricky, dangerous and ridiculous... and it is. But it is also fun, so all that doesn't matter.

Find anything the floats, bind it together and set sail in the local lake, river, marina or - if you dare - ocean. It goes without saying that this is even more fun if you dress as pirates.

It is surprisingly simple. A few oil barrels, pool noodles or PVC pipes can always be found for floatation. Just add a platform on top, find a few paddles and hey presto you have a floating fun house... at least until you inevitably manage to sink it.

Just a personal tip - rafting into places like Claisebrook Cove or Hillarys Boat Harbour garners the most hilarious responses from onlookers. And yes, that is my car... needless to say it didn't fit under the freeway bridges.

Roadtrip
Well, it may not be as out there as the other three, but nothing beats the memories of those good ol' fashion road trips. It doesn't have to be far, even just driving through Kings Park can give you a hoot.

All you need is a full car, appropriate music and no sense of self shame (for the singing that is bound to happen). Some of the best trips around Perth are through the hills, along the coast and as previously mentioned the roads that snake through our treasured park.

Note: ice cream, food and playground stops will be a necessity... and expect to pick up random items a long the way - it always happens.

Next time you're feeling like your doing the same old thing with your mates, think outside the box. There is a whole world of home made entertainment to explore if you let your minds run wild. If you think your idea is daft, do it!
