Improvised Comedy at the Festival
Cool Story, Bro is a cool idea for a comedy show with a difference. If you're tired of the format of one comic on a mic, here's a show that offers something new. Comedians will tell true stories from their own lives and improvisational comics act out the stories for the audience's entertainment. It's all made up on the spot, so it's quirky and unpredictable.

Award-winning improvisational comedy company, Big Fork Theatre, told Weekend Notes Cool Story, Bro is based on a popular format from the US.

"Imagine a little slice of Chicago from some of the most outstanding improvisers and comedians around," Big Fork Theatre co-founder Taylor Edwards said.

"In a show with no script and no material there is no telling what will come next, which is a thrill for both the audience and the improvisers.

"There's something almost magical in hearing stories from people's lives, whether it's a charming tale about finding a lost dog, an embarrassing first date or the last words of a family member; it's the truth that makes it so real, engaging and incredibly funny."

In 2017, Big Fork Theatre performed weekly improvised comedy to regular sell-out audiences in Brisbane and won an award for their show Around the Campfire at the Anywhere Theatre Festival.

Cool Story Bro only has two shows left to go - 17 and 24 March and you can book tickets online at brisbanecomedyfestival.com.
