Cooking can be either a passion or a nightmare, depending on the person. What is true, though, is that we all need to learn the basics in order to feed ourselves and don't die starving or spending all our money in restaurants. If your mother did not teach you how to cook, you might need a little help, and a good idea is to sign up for cooking classes. There are many options around Sydney, but here you have three that are highly recommended;

1.Cucina Italiana

Italian cuisine is simple, healthy and, most importantly, delicious. For around $130, you can learn how to cook the perfect Italian meal, going from home-made pasta to gnocchi. The courses are hosted by Luciana, a specialist in Italian cuisine, who will make sure that her beloved culture is palpable in your dishes.

2. Accoutrement Cooking School

If you are interested on seeing how Australian Chefs cook their best dishes, this school will be the perfect choice. Offering classes every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 6:30pm, you'll learn how to cook a wide variety of recipes - from a very simple baked fish until a delicious peach tart. Some of the courses are only demonstrations, but you'll find the recipes on the website as well, so you can try to do it yourself at home.

3. Sydney Cooking School

If the whole cooking world is completely strange to you, join the Adult Beginning Cooking Course at the Sydney Cooking School. Over six weeks and for $575, you'll be able to learn, not only the basics ,but also fancy dishes which are perfect for dinner party meals. They also offer a wide variety of other courses such as Mexican food, desserts or even how to use a knife correctly.
