There's nothing better than enjoying a mouth watering meal at your favourite Thai, Turkish or Italian restaurant; except maybe learning how to prepare your favourite international meal yourself. Many Brisbane restaurants and cooking schools offer professional cooking classes.
Monīs Thai Rarnaharn in Windsor holds cooking classes every Wednesday and Saturday. Their most popular class, Introduction to Thai cooking, teaches you how to prepare red curry paste, stir fry with basil and chili and other delicious meals (which, of course, you will get to enjoy at the end of the class). Bookings are essential and classes usually cost $125. Private classes are also available.
Healthy meals can also be yummy, and Mondo Organics in West End teaches you how. Chose from cooking classes on whole foods, super foods and gluten free cooking. They also offer a variety of international cooking classes: Moroccan, French, Italian or Turkish cuisine - the choice is yours. Classes usually cost between $110 and $130.
The Australian School of Meditation and Yoga offers some of the cheapest cooking classes in town. So if you are on a bit of a budget, check out their vegetarian cooking classes held at their West End and Gold Coast locations. The demonstration classes are held occasionally and cost between $35 and $40, including a recipe book and a full meal.
For a large variety of cooking classes, check out James St Cooking Schoolin Fortitude Valley. Learn how to prepare a delicious seafood BBQ, cook a Mediterranean Feast, or whatever else is your ambition. You can choose between hands-on classes, or, if you prefer to just sit back and watch, demonstration classes. Cost is between $135 and $155.
