The West Side events space La.Venue, aka The Tunnel, will be transformed into a bustling culinary marketplace from November 6th to the 8th, when Tastings New York City hosts Cook.Eat.Drink.Live.2009. For $65 a day, you can indulge your every gourmet desire at this decadent tasting event. But it's also a fine opportunity to do some early holiday shopping, if you're one of those annoyingly perfect people who actually gets holiday shopping done early.

With dozens of local and national vendors ranging from winemakers to cheesemakers and everything in between, the shopping and tasting opportunities are many. But since this is New York City, no tasting would be complete without local restaurants representing. So in between wine samples, make time to score samples, gift certificates, and reservations from eateries like One if by Land, Two if by Sea and Rouge Tomate.

When your stomach needs a break, take in some of the live cooking demonstrations and panels featuring special celebrity guests including Ted Allen (Food Network, Queer Eye), NYC chef Joey Campanaro (The Little Owl, Market Table), Pauline Frommer (Frommer Guide), cocktail queen Kara Newman, and Tanya Wenman Steel (Editor-in-Chief of Epicurious.com). Or take a stroll through the FineWaters Pavilion, where rare waters from around the world are the main event. Those with a different kind of thirst needn't fret, as there will be plenty of wine and cocktail tastings (don't miss Apotheke's mixologist) to keep everyone's whistles wet.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 888-695-0888, and a portion of the event's proceeds will go to support Action Against Hunger.
