Coogee Pavilion - Justin Hemmes of Merivale's New Creation
Justin Hemmes is certainly today's creative visionary leader when it comes to securing prime locations and developing them into the ultimate latest hot Restaurant Bar. With over 50 restaurants under the Merivale Belt such as Ivy, Establishment, Mr Wong and Palmer & Co, Coogee Pavilion is the latest innovative addition.

This Beachside Venue has something for all ages, tastes and budgets. Immediately on entering you will initially feel a sense of chaos and noise but in actual fact it is the buzz of a well designed restaurant space taking off.

Once a local favoured late night drinking spot, the Beach Palace Hotel has been totally refurbished into a family-friendly venue with much to offer. The ground floor being the first of three levels to open around seven weeks ago.

This level has a market place feel, buzzing with activity. Nooks and crannies to suit any mood.

Different food and beverage stations cover the polished concrete floors under exposed ceilings creating a very modern airy casual atmosphere.

Games Arena Space

The most unusual and eye catching area is the games arena.

This is truly an innovative idea unlike any other play area I've seen. Adults and children alike can both enjoy the giant magnetic Scrabble Board, Ping Pong tables and Petanque. Or relax on a lounge in the In-house Theatrette.

The Menu

The menu is tantalising with a variety of produce from fresh shucked Oysters,Sushi, Seafood, Burgers and Grills.

A varied menu to suit any taste and budget.

You can start eating some Sashimi, move on to a tasty Mini Lobster Roll or opt just for a Salad.

You may end up grazing your way through the Menu finding it hard to stop eating.

Or going all out and having a food fiesta with friends staying the whole day.

I personally love the open kitchen seeing so many talented Chefs creating dishes with love.

Executive Chef Jordan Toft heads a stable of talent with Zac Sykes, Vincenzo Biondini and Danielle Alvarez creating culinary delights.

You will also find the staff friendly and eager to please. We enjoyed one of their classic Cocktails while waiting for our table at the bar looking out over the beach. They also offer an extensive Wine and Beer List. If you don't drink alcohol and prefer fresh juice or a coffee then you can try the Love Juice Bar or Will & Co coffee bar.

This venue has all sorts of quirky touches to keep your interest. Open 7 Days a week 11.00am until Late, with Love Juice and Will & Co open from 7.00am for your morning fix. A Breakfast menu will also be served in the near future.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and vowed to go back again soon to try out more of the Menu and different spaces.

Believe me you will want to stay the whole day and maybe finish off with an afternoon swim and snooze at the beach.

After enjoying such an exciting new place I look forward to trying the upper level restaurant and Rooftop Bar when they are finished. I guarantee you will enjoy this fabulous new venue.
