This is one festival you do NOT want to miss
From 23rd to 25th March, 2018, locals and visitors will be able to go to this festival and see interesting works of art, interactive activities, community group demonstrations, food and drinks, outdoor movies, live music, markets, and more.
There will be an "event traik" which winds its way along the event stretching the length of Coogee's picturesque coastline of more than a kilometre. This will be between Ngarkal Beach at Port Coogee, and Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
Coogee Live is a varied celebration, which showcases the family-friendly lifestyle Cockburn now has to offer. Visitors will be able to see and do so much at this Festival.
There will be four main event hubs, each with its own dedicated line-up of entertainment. You can walk the trail and see all four in a day or break it up throughout the weekend!
The trail will take in the Coogee Maritime Trail and historic Omeo wreck, adjacent parks and playgrounds and the popular Coogee Beach and jetty.
Each evening of the festival, you can bring your picnic blankets, and inflatables to Ngarkal Beach for Movies Over the Marina, which will be a full programme of free feature and short films from 4 pm to 9 pm.
Films to be shown include Life of Pi, The Red Turtle and Given and these will all be visible on the large screen, from the beach or even the water!
There will be live music which you can watch while overlooking the beach at Omeo Park, or you can experience the Coogee dive and snorkel trail, including the Omeo shipwreck.
Coogee Beach Reserve will also have plenty happening there and for the younger people, there will be heaps of games and activities.
Twice daily you can go to the Junkadelic music-making workshops, and here you can learn to make a musical instrument from recycled materials, as well as learn how to play them. Then you could join the big band on a musical parade along the beach trails.
At the Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club, you can try a new sport or a club activity where community groups will be demonstrating whatever they do best. Or you can buy a drink and a bite to eat at Coogee Beach Eats and the Club Café.
The four hubs are:
* Live Lighter Coogee Beach Hub
