Go crazy for Coogee
Sydney is already feeling the summer heat, and what better way to escape it then a beach day with your friends and family. The coast of Sydney is jam packed with beaches, but which to choose! Look no further; close to the city, without the crowds of Bondi I present to you - Coogee Beach.

One of the more mainstream options, yet still a favourite of mine due to the variety swimming/snorkelling/eating/sitting places you have here.

The beach is very well patrolled but if waves aren't your thing, there are 3 ocean pools with one right on the sand, perfect for the children. Giles baths on the left of Coogee offers a lot of fun for the bigger kids, with giant boulders to laze about on, climb over or jump off into the water when the tide is high.

There are also commonly lots of lovely sea life to see, so bring the snorkel gear! For a girls day out there are the women's baths that are just off the main beach with access next to the surf club, offering a private place to swim and sun bake. The hundreds of cafes and restaurants offer remarkable meals and snacks, with the best smoothies in Sydney found at Melonhead on Coogee Bay Rd. Beware, there is always a large line, but the wait is 100% worth it.

Once you have had enough of the sand and surf, I really recommend taking the walk up to the headland to look down into beautiful Gordon's Bay (another amazing snorkelling destination) and if your timing is right, watch the sun go down with that special someone. If you are up for the walk, then continue onto the coastal walk for the full eastern suburbs beach experience.

Remember your sunscreen and hat how ever you choose to spend the day at Coogee Beach.
