Who loves to enjoy the seaside by going to the beach with a great book to read? Now you won't curse yourself if you forget to bring that book. At Coogee Beach you can borrow a great book or magazine straight from the lower promenade at the beach. Australia finally has it's first free beach library.

Randwick Council have created this unique concept for residents and visitors to enjoy until the end of February. The free-standing timber bookcase contains up to 1000 fiction and non-fiction books, and magazines in various languages to suit any interest that both adults and children can enjoy. This idea may even get your children more interested in reading while they cool off under a beach umbrella.

This unique beach library is open during lifeguard patrol hours 7am-7pm until the end of February. It has the added bonus that you can even take the book home with you, but you are expected to return it.
