Fantastic pastries & treats in the outback
In the heart of the outback you may not expect to find a gourmet patisserie and bakery, however you may be pleasantly surprised.
So many choices, it's hard to make a selection (we choose several).
Whilst on the outside it is set in a dusty Main St, with the tumble-weeds brushing by and inside it looks much like any other country bakery, the produce they create is excellent.

We selected some pastries, spinach and ricotta rolls and a mille-feuille (which they call a vanilla slice). They were terrific, flaky pastry, great fillings, generous servings and very reasonable prices.

The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous.
We ended up with a big box full of treats which we took back to our hotel. We sat outside around the pool and had quite a special feast.
You can find the Coober Pedy Bakery as you enter the Main Street. Go past the tourist office, up to the roundabout and take a sharp left. There is a small group of shops on your right and you will find the bakery there, opposite the Opal Chinese Restaurant.
