Honour and respect those who fight for our country
When we think of veterans, most of us think of those who fought for our freedom in a whole raft of different theatres of war, but generally that it happened a long time ago.
However, veterans are a diverse group of all ages and with vastly different experiences. Some are still serving military members who participate in Anzac Day marches and others have transitioned to civilian life, however these are our contemporary veterans who have given just as much to the protection of our people and great shores as those who fought previously. It is increasingly important that their sacrifice and contribution is not forgotten.
On Sunday 25 February 2018, the South Australian community can show their appreciation, recognition and support for contemporary veterans on Contemporary Veterans Day at the Largs Bay RSL Sub Branch, 17 Carnarvon Terrace, Largs North from 1 pm to 4 pm.
