Secret garden is secret no more
Wine and great scenery make for a sensational weekend in the Hunter Valley. Often the magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens is on the tourist trail, as it should be. There is, however, a wonderful garden that few know about. Head over to the Constable Estate Vineyards for beautiful gardens without the crowds.
The gardens were established in 1984, the vineyard somewhat earlier, over roughly fifteen hectares. There are rose gardens, gazebos from which to appreciate the beauty or escape the heat, formal gardens, sculptures, a pretty dam, and the lovely secret garden.
The kids and I love to explore the gardens every time we visit, and it has a certain tranquility that the busier tourist gardens can't offer. Entry to the gardens is free, and there is of course, a cellar door for tastings, ticking two boxes at once for the wine valley weekend itinerary.
Located conveniently minutes away from a number of great restaurants and a lot of accommodation, Constable Estate Vineyard is a must see for your next visit.
