Greater Gliders are our largest gliding mammals and are amongst Logan's most secretive and little-seen native species. They're fluffy-eared, hollow-dwelling marsupials and look a lot like their ringtail possum relatives. Their Patagium, a membrane that stretches from their elbow to ankle enables them to glide up to 100m between trees. Their slow movement and size require their need for large tree hollows and they have a specialised diet of gum leaves. Because of these specifics, it places these nationally vulnerable marsupials at risk from habitat loss, climate change and bushfires.
