Confluence: A Festival of India is a unique 12-week cultural event showcasing the rich and diverse culture of India across 7 major Australian cities.From the Opera House in Sydney, Federation Square in Melbourne, QPAC in Brisbane, the Festival Centre in Adelaide, Old Parliament in Canberra and His Majesty's Theatre in Perth, Confluence will enthral audiences with an extraordinary range of performances.The Perth program is highlighted with special events, including contemporary puppeteer Dadi Pudumjee in Transposition; Nrityagram Dance Ensemble in Sriyah; The Kalakshetra Foundation in the expressive dance piece Jataya Moksham and much more!View the program below:
26th September: The Raghu Dixit Project at Perth Concert Hall, 7pm ($20-$50)The Raghu Dixit Project is one of India's foremost bands in its genre. Earthy, rooted, colourful, vibrant, simple yet highly enjoyable are some of the words that describe the music of The Raghu Dixit Project. Often hailed as India's biggest cultural & musical export his music is strongly rooted in Indian traditions and culture and is presented with a very contemporary, global sound.

27th & 28th September: Sriyah: Nrityagram Dance Ensemble at Studio Underground, 6.30pm ($30)Ancient dance in a modern era - Sriyah is an exquisite Indian dance from the Nrityagram Dance Ensemble, whose vibrant costumes and lively yet fluid movements depict an ornately carved Hindu temple springing into life and colour.
2nd October to 2nd November: Borderless Gandhi presents Mahatma In Me at Bell Tower, Elizabeth Quay (FREE)This year, Borderless Gandhi is launched in Australia with "Borderless Gandhi presents Mahatma in me", an exhibition by Delhi based artist Vibhor Sogani. Exhibits produced in stainless steel will be installed at Elizabeth Quay in front of the Bell Tower in Perth, Western Australia. The exhibits reflect the inward qualities we all carry with us..
5th & 6 October: Transposition: Ishara International Puppet Trust at His Majesty's Theatre, 7.30pm ($30-$45)Transposition features three large puppets and dancers with projections and a dramatic recorded music score with chants. It's a non-verbal, no text performance, to music with some narration in-between poems and sayings from various poets including Rumi, Thomas Mann and others.
1st November: Jatayu Moksham at Studio Underground, State Theatre Centre, 6.30pm ($30)Kalakshetra repertory artistes will perform the Jatayu Moksham, a piece from the epic Ramayana, depicting the story of the slaying of the noble eagle, Jatayu, a friend of Rama, the protagonist, by Lankan king Ravana when he is escaping with the abducted Sita, Rama's wife.Register your interest now by clicking on the above links or here .
