Melbourne is the city of culture and diversity, we know that; yet Melbourne is one of the best cities to be host to a number of conferences, seminars and events including charity gala events. A few of these great conference venues are setting the scene.

Especially the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre at South Wharf. Have been to a few functions here already from church services to a writers event, even an event on business. The auditorium is spacious and light, and this facility is well known to practise what they preach with world class architecture and ventilation to ensure the confort of all guests. Have also been to the odd exhibition here as well. Trendy, comfortable and spacious with an abundant supply of water and mints. Also their classroom style facilities are quite comfortable too.

The Crown Conference Centre also gives the Melbourne Covention and Exhibition Centre a good run for its money. You would be fortunate to come to an event here; although many of the events (especially the shorter one's) are held at the Sofitel Hotel in Collins Street.

The grand ballroom is quite spacious, although the chairs could be slightly more comfortable. Equally as impressive would be the LaTrobe room upstairs. Love the catering, spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce and the sandwiches. Love it when the staff serve you a cup of herbal tea, and the water displays are so inviting; with drinking from beautiful glasses. Great ambience too.

Last but not least, the conferencing facilities at Mantra on Little Bourke Street is separate from the hotel; like you are almost walking into an office building. Bright lighting and excellent catering including doughnuts. And their note pads brightened up every day; so innovative with notes like "I should not eat too many mints" or "I should listen to the speaker" and so on. Did a week long course here and the venue was perfect.
