Concordia Lounge at Denpasar International Airport

Those of us who enjoy travelling tend to appreciate a quiet and comfortable Airport Lounge to while away time before boarding. It's a chance to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat while checking emails and travel apps to ensure we have prepared well for our next destination. The lounge comes after the mad scramble of security and immigration and before the line up for boarding and the search for overhead locker space. We are ever hopeful for efficient wifi, a comfy seat and an enticing selection of refreshments. Some lounges deliver while others disappoint. I had previously visited the Premier Lounge in Denpasar which, sadly, belonged in the second category. More recently I accessed the Concordia Lounge right next door.
Customers can pay to access this lounge which is not affiliated with specific airlines. I was able to access it with my Priority Pass status, a free perk offered by my credit card.
The lounge is reasonably spacious and offers ample seating. There is a bar near the entrance although I was informed at the reception desk that there was no alcohol available. This didn't worry me but I did get the impression that the information was offered as a safeguard to the disappointment of travellers who did expect a stiff drink.
There were adequate bathrooms near the bar area and, at the other end of the lounge, a small 'quiet room' with two massage chairs in place. At least one was out of order.
Mine was a morning visit so I encountered a selection of breakfast options including two types of cereal and UHT milk.
For those who prefer a Western-style breakfast toast and toppings, sausages and scrambled eggs were available.
There was Asian-style food including spring rolls, samosas, noodles and chicken porridge.
The pastries were popular though I was unsure of their freshness so didn't select one.
I chose a couple of tiny cakes to enjoy with a cup of ordinary coffee and logged onto the wifi to check email and travel arrangements.
The wifi worked and the cakes were nice enough. Overall I'd say this lounge is better than the Premier next door which is decidedly tired and sad with threadbare carpet and torn upholstery on many of the chairs. There is a third lounge, Garuda, which I believe is a bit nicer again. I'll try it next time and report back.
