Once inside, our Master of Ceremonies drew out a title "Harry Potter and the Motherless Goat'. The audience and crew went silent (i.e. How the hell can they incorporate a motherless goat into the HP plot?).
Improvisation is a formidable skill and takes risk and tenacity to throw in an idea and follow it through, without knowing the potential outcome. The ensemble were highly enthusiastic and committed to the cause, taking up ideas and seeing them through to the end, in what seemed like an impossible task!
Soothplayers - Completely Improvised Potter in action
Last night we saw Aberforth Dumbledore (Pedro Cooray), Harry Potter (Elizabeth Donald) Hermoine & Fawkes the Phoenix (Gemma Duncan), Professor Snape (Millie Holtan) Motherless Goat (Patrick Rehil) and Luna Lovegood (Taylor Griffiths) take on the evil Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
Ironically Voldemort killed all his Death Eaters with 'Avada Kedavra' before repossessing the motherless goat and venturing to Hogwart's campus to kill our dear Harry.
Through an impressive array of spells and illusions, Hermoine, Ron, Luna and Harry manage to "Expelliarmus' and 'Stupefy' Voldemort and 'Impedimenta' him back to his dripping cave.
This is a great fun show for all ages, and especially Harry Potter groupies; whether you are a Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin - why not have a Harry Potter marathon and see the show every night of the Fringe? That's 13 shows in a row, every night a different plot, with crazy twists, turns, spells, and maybe even a game of Quidditch. Bonus - you can also grab a photo with the cast in their Hogwart's uniforms after the show!
