Money raised will go towards JellyBeans, which is a programme Open Doors operate to give support to young trans-gender youth in South East Queensland who are aged between 12 and 24. With the aim of creating networks of support for young LGBTIQ and their families, Open Doors provide education, mediation, training and outreach. Open Doors also accept referrals from schools, families, friends and other associations.
A team of adorable and sexy men will make your car/boat campervan or motor bike shine while you kick back and enjoy a gourmet barbeque courtesy of Boot Co. & Rainbow (RU) OK Foundation along with music by local DJ's. Leah Andrea is owner and designer of LA Australia and will be providing the car washing hotties swimwear on the day from her new range for summer.
Boot Co. is a Gentlemen's Only Club which, through memberships and by holding events and raffles with generous sponsors also raise money for a variety of different charities and community organisations. Rainbow (RU) OK Foundation is run by a group of six people who organise social picnics and barbeques in alcohol absent locations for people and families with mental illness and concerns. The Foundation via it's Facebook groups also offers as a referral service for Suicide Prevention, Crisis Housing and other groups such as QuAC, Diverse Voices, Q-Life, Head Space, Lifeline and Beyond Blue.
LA Australia began seven years ago after Leah's son was unable find comfortable underwear. Following extensive research and development, and with 30 year's experience already spent in the fashion industry, Leah decided to specialise in men's underwear. Based in Brisbane, LA Australia currently includes a collection of colourful and practical underwear, swimwear, gymwear and singlets, while maintaining a high level of "quality, fit and comfort" as priority. If you do not own a car you are still welcome to come down and enjoy the barbeque for a gold coin donation. This year's barbeque will include pulled Pork buns with gravy or Apple sauce, Cajun or BBQ chicken wings and Sausage sandwiches, onions optional. If you are unable to attend, yet would still like to give money to this great cause, there is an online portal on the You Caring link where you can pledge a donation.
Organiser Torren Adelle is hoping from here on that this event will be run twice a year with the first being held at the beginning of Summer and the other at the end of Summer. Last year funds raised totalled almost $2,500 and this year Torren is hoping they can top this figure. If you wish to know more about the event, you can contact Torren here.
The Community Cash Wash kicks off at 10.00am on Saturday 29th October with all vehicles costing $25 for the wash and an extra $10 if you want an internal vacuum. We hope to see you there.
