New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
Follow the route across the city, over 2 exciting days
On Thursday, 25th January and Friday, 26th January, the Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay will be held across the city. To see the route for both days, see the website below and click on "Australian Dates", then "ACT", then "Canberra Day 1" for 25th January and "Canberra Day 2" for 26th January. This may take some time to upload, so give it a little longer than normal to catch up.
Over 70 Canberrans will be running in the relay over 2 days!
Canberra Day 1 begins with Robert De Castella and a celebration at the AIS at 9:30am. The athletes then take the relay across the city, travelling through the National Arboretum and through the Parliamentary Triangle before concluding at the Australian War Memorial at 4pm.
Canberra Day 2 begins at 3:55pm at Commonwealth Park near the Captain Cook Memorial Jet and then continues over the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge in a loop of the inner Central Loop of the lake before finishing at the Regatta Point concert at 5:45pm.
Please note that the Queen's Baton relay map can be slow to work to see the route, however press the maximize and minimize buttons to help you get a closer look at each runners section, time and route.
