Throughout the day there will be a number of interesting, educational and free workshops (listed below). Learn the secret to making traditional Italian tomato passata (tomato sauce), learn how to become savvy at choosing and purchasing wholefoods with the help of OzFood Trainer and wholefood nutritionist, Sandra Dubs, or gain insight into making smoothies and desserts with the Raw Food Demonstration.
Alongside the market stalls, there will also be food poetry, music and a wide variety of taste testing, including tomato tastings, olive tastings, gingerbeer, wine and beer tastings.
There will also be a children's space, where your kids can enjoy building castles in the sandpit or playing with wooden toys. There will also be children's workshops based on making food mosaics, such as the eggshell mosaic workshop. The workshops will run every hour on the hour at the price of $10/workshop.
And why not share the love and join the fun with a jar swap? You can join in by registering here and all you need to do is bring along 6 jars of food (whatever you have) and swap it for some tasty alternatives with others on the day. The jar swap will take place midday.
And if you're worried about Melbourne's fickle weather, don't worry as the market and most of the workshops will be held inside.
