[ADVERT]One of our favourite British restaurants, The Commoner Restaurant, located in Fitzroy, presents a special selection of cult movie inspired menus. Launched bimonthly, this very special dining experience pays tribute to some of the greatest movies and classic dishes.
This year, three cult foodie menus have already been presented; in February, the 'Poultrygeist' menu featured a celebration of chicken and wine, in April, the 'Claws' menu paid tribute to crustaceans and in June, the 'Whisky Business' menu matched whiskey which a range of carefully selected delights.
The next menu is cleverly titled 'Back to the Butcher' and it will be launched on August 1. The 5 course menu, featuring a specific Warialda belted Galloway, will be prepared by acclaimed Commoner chef, Brook Petrie, in a variety of creative ways for guests to enjoy.
Tickets for the launch night (August 1) are $120, including matched wines, or $75 food only. On launch night, a Warialda representative will be on hand to educate guests about rare breed beef and the farming process.
A similar menu will also be available throughout the month of August for the same price. Plus, in addition to the special menu, The Commoner will also be offering charcuterie plates and weekend roasts using products from local producers.
Forthcoming cult movie inspired menus include; 'Belicatessen', launching on October 4, and finally, 'Planet of the Canapés', launching on December 6.
