Located along Greenhill Road in Eastwood, Commitment Issues is a cafe that notably changes its menu weekly so you can expect something different when you visit. Placing your order is done via an iPad, which also allows you to select options for your desired dishes.

The cauliflower that we chose for the CI Style Spicy Salad had texture and was cooked sufficiently to give it a bit of char. The poached egg had a lovely runny yolk and pickled radish, carrots and onions added a tangy flavour to the dish. For those concerned about the degree of spiciness of the salad, it was not too hot.

We liked that the beef in the Triple Loaded Beef Potato was tender and juicy with a delectable savoury flavour from the soy caramel sauce. The fluffy and light potato acted as a good means to absorb the sauce, and the coleslaw partnered nicely with the beef. Some freshness was provided by a small serving of fresh salad greens.

The crispy fried chicken in the CI Fried Chicken Waffle N Stack was cooked just right, with the crisp coating contrasting well with the flesh. The Belgium waffles were not too sweet and the meringue shards added a unique crunchy element. In addition to bacon and maple syrup, the dish came with CI style sauce that had a smoky taste with a hint of spice.

The cafe is fairly small in size. Some of the seatings are in a nook, which gives a feeling of cosiness. Various sandwiches and pastries are also offered for those who don’t have the time to wait for their menu items to be prepared.
