For comic book enthusiasts and those wanting to discover and delve deeper into comic books, Ashfield Library, 260 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield, will be holding a Comic Con-versation from 3.30-8pm on Saturday 21 July 2018. This is a celebration of the best in local comic culture, where you get to relax on a Saturday evening and delve into comics, talks and music. Live music will be performed by geek pop singer-songwriter Meri Amber, so relax and get ready to meet and mingle with local talented comic creators, with an opportunity to buy their books, comics and art.

Charged with enthusiasm, have a browse through the library's graphic novel collection and you might find something you'd like to take home. For more information, check the Facebook page, and look up the many Comic events on the event page , as similar events are being run in many other libraries, one of which may be closer to you. Please note, though these are free events, you are required to register for numbers for all events, bar one i.e. Greg Sindel The Pruning.

Greg will then perform a 30 min reading from his most recent graphic novel The Pruning, produced by Leigh Rigozzi. Bookings are not required for this event, as it'll be first come first served.
  • 6-7pm - Storytelling in Comics: the art of storytelling panel. Get insight into how comic creators get their story ideas and how they tell their stories in comic form.
