For a great night out full of hilarious entertainment and laughter, the Comedy Lounge is the place to go. We are spoilt in Perth with the purpose-built comedy venue, the Comedy Lounge offering live stand-up comedy shows from Wednesday to Sunday.



The is an intimate setting providing up close and personal seating to enjoy the evening's comedic entertainment but be warned, if you choose to sit in the front row you become fair game and your love life, occupation or dress sense could be a source of merriment for the audience.



On Friday and Saturday nights, the lounge's Premiere show presents a line-up of professional stand-up comedians. Since 2004,the has showcased the very best of international, interstate and local talent but of course, at the moment international comedians are unavailable. This did not diminish the exceptional talent of the local and interstate comedians who performed on the evening I attended. The MC and 4 diverse and clever comedians had an amazing ability to hold the audience and elicit laugh after laugh. I loved watching the people around me who were doubled over with laughter as they enjoyed the comedic skills of each comedian. It was hard to pick a favourite comedian but I particularly loved the visual antics of one of the entertainers.



Next time I'm going to try a Thursday night Gong show or Wednesday night Open Mic. In the Gong show, amateurs and professionals go head to head and the audience has the power to decide if the comedian can complete their set or gets gonged off. On Open Mic nights, 12-14 professional and newcomers have the chance to try out their newest material and win over the crowd in five-minute sets.



The venue's bar offers Margaret River wines, beers from local breweries and gin from an award-winning WA distillery. For something to nosh on during the show, the kitchen offers pizzas, cheese boards, fries, and wedges. We enjoyed the VIP package, which included excellent seats for 2, a choice of either a bottle of sparkling, red or white wine and a meat & cheese board platter. We went home full of food and drink and memories of a laughter-filled night.
