If you are parent, you no longer need to wait till your kids grow up to experience the magic of the Famous Spiegeltent. Comedy Club for Kids for 6 to 12 year olds runs a 12.30pm show every day of the Comedy Festival, except for Mondays.

So grab your child or two and head to the Art Centre, where the whimsically painted Spiegeltent awaits.

The show is a fun mix of clowning, magic, music and dance with the main goal – to get the giggles out of the little ones. And the local and international acts do a great job of it, while also entertaining the adults.

Of course, you'd be subjected to jokes about farts and poo, but if you are parent, that should not faze you.

One hour goes quickly while you follow the tricks of Fredh the Clown, listen to silly songs performed by talented Josh Earl and learn krumping from fabulous Tessa Waters of Womanz amongst other numbers. MC, a trying gentle clown, entertains the audience in between the acts connecting them all while stealing a bit of show thunder himself.

Unlike in some adult Spiegeltent performances, the front seats here are safe. You won't risk being embarrassed. Quite the opposite, you'll feel as if you are the star of the show as you help the performers perfect a magic trick or teach them your favorite dance moves. There are plenty of chances to participate for those who are not in the front row also.

This is probably one of the most unusual school holiday ideas. It is also a rare one that allows parents to have as much fun as their kids.

Treat yourselves to something different these school holidays. Comedy Club for kids at the Famous Spiegeltent will make you feel like an adult and your child will feel all grown up too.

Some useful info:

You should also be able to get them at the Box Office. The closest one to the venue is on the corner of Russel and Flinders streets.
