I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.
Anyone Can Play Golf
Wembley Downs Golf Course
Golf is a great game for many different reasons, it gets you out and about, you don't have to be a fantastic golfer to enjoy playing and you only have yourself to beat or try to improve each time. For all these reasons, it is also a great game for people who have a disability. The organisation Empower Golf is all about enabling access to golf for people of all abilities across Australia. So it's fantastic to hear that now Come and Try Golf Clinics are introducing people living with a disability to golf for the first time, or reintroducing former players to the game they love after accident or illness.
The ParaGolfer allows players with a physical disability to play golf
At the golf clinic, players of all abilities have to opportunity to try golf, use the amazing ParaGolfer and other adaptive equipment. Expert tuition will be on hand to ensure everyone gets the most out of the session. Families and friends are welcome to share in the afternoon and provide support and encouragement. The clinic will run from 10 am to 12 pm, so there is plenty of time to relax and chat with the other players.
Ball and club hire, tuition and use of adaptive equipment are all included in the coaching. So why not come along try it out, have fun and you never know you may get hooked!
