Yarra Valley Fly Fishers Club is inviting new members to join their group and are hosting two family-friendly '' events for local men, women and children (aged 14 and over) this August.This is your chance to learn to fly fish at a tranquil, purpose built, rural fly fishing property, situated within one hour's drive from Lilydale. Both rainbow trout and golden trout are stocked in the numerous dams on this property, and all the fishing is "catch and release".Club members will be there with you to guide, teach, demonstrate and assist you to become a proficient beginner in the art of flyfishing. You can bring your own gear or we will provide it. This instruction will include rigging your rod, reel and flyline, casting techniques, fly selection, fly presentation, retrieve techniques and finally, catch and release techniques.It's sure to be a fun-filled day and club members will be on hand to offer you handy tricks and tips. You will be acquainted with the art of flyfishing in next to no time and all required equipment will be supplied (you may also bring your own).Two session are available:Saturday, 27th August, 10.00am - 4.00pm orSunday 28th August, 10.00am – 4.00pmAs part of the experience a BBQ lunch and soft beverages are included. The participation fee is $50 per person. Family members who attend, but do not participate in the flyfishing are welcome to enjoy the day and the BBQ at half the cost - $25.00 per person.After attending the event you may wish to join the Yarra Valley Fly Fishers Club and build on your newly learnt skills.
